Of Discrimination Against Child Avatars

A friend of mine was banned from a club after the conversation regarding child avatars transformed into a heated argument. Apparently, he couldn’t talk sense into the manager that he is NOT in a child avatar!
Well this friend of mine loves to appear in a child avatar so when he was told that he has to change; he complied and changed to a bigger shape. By that I mean a huge difference, from a child to a 5’8 tall avatar in SL.
What went wrong is the skin. My friend rocked a fair, Japanese boy’s skin. Though he changed the height, they still insisted that he’s a child. Therefore the issue here is:
Should the club owners ban child avatars?
I know when you run a club, and whoever appears at your territory, you automatically feel that you have the supreme authority to eject whoever you want and you can even make all sorts of ridiculous rules. But mind you, many clubs have to wind up because of low traffic and lack of support.
You just need one influential person to spread the word about your discriminatory behavior and sooner or later you will lose your ‘fan base’ when there are better club owners who know how to respect everybody.
Of course it is normal to ban and eject people who do not understand basic rules for example the griefers. But to get all worked up towards somebody coming in as a child avatar? I don’t think that is reasonable at all.
Are you really that naive to believe that people coming in as a child avatar is truly a child in real life? If you say “no.”, then why did you choose to discriminate them? What kind of threat will they pose if they genuinely come to your club just to chill?
And also, what is the criterion to avoid being classified as a child avatar? When my friend changed his shape to his RL height – 5’8, they still refused to accept him. I didn’t say this because he is my friend, but he looks adult to me after the change? Except he appears to be fair and skinny, but that doesn’t make him a child at all!
The managers couldn’t even provide a valid reason as to why he is not allowed to come in as a child avatar because truth is; they know there’s no valid reason at all!
I think those child avatars are absolutely adorable! Most of them, despite being adults in RL, know how to project themselves as friendly and harmless beings. Personally they wouldn’t be in my ban list unless they intend to cause some trouble in the club, which is when they do that; otherwise I wouldn’t be so discriminatory towards them! How hurtful it is to see 2 children dancing on the dance floor?
And do not forget, there are many residents who love appearing as child avatars, and they also have many friends in different forms too. And I have begun to think that the club managers are acting unprofessionally, so no way will I visit that club.
You can have supreme authority to make rules, but please don’t abuse it.

For those of you who are wondering which club am I talking about, I’m so sorry I’m not gonna mention the name to help them in their traffic, but you guys can certainly interview my friend, who is a victim of the child av discrimination – Matthew Chieng , perhaps he can provide y’all a juicier information?
